Fashion Research Centre (FRC) is an initiative that seeks to work at the intersection of research and journalism.
And, there's a backdrop to this. Of course.
The global textiles-apparel-fashion industry today finds itself in a crisis, and this predicament is an outcome much of its own doing to a considerable extent. The industry, however, has been quite proactive of late in trying to stem the rot and work towards a future that keeps the people and the planet at the forefront.
But there is a problem: the lack of authentic information and the shortage of credible analyses.
This is where FRC steps in.
To bridge the gap between ground realities and industry, promote sustainable innovations/practices, provide a platform for critical thinking, encourage grassroots endeavours and indigenous fashion, and foster harmonious relationships between sectors of industry.
Sustainability, transparency and traceability.
Fact-based and research-driven journalism while never losing sight of the planet and the people.
A global textiles-apparel-fashion industry that keeps the people and planet at the forefront.
Fashion Research Centre, a media start-up by former colleagues, cumulatively brings more than 60 years of experience on the table, the last 40+ closely observing the business of textiles/fashion across the value chain. They promise honest journalism, they promise to be a real friend to the industry, an industry that needs to find a firmer sustainable footing in a new world order shaped by the catastrophic pandemic. The time to return to the drawing board and chalk out afresh a new journey is now, and they promise to walk that talk.
